For the guys still needing .308...

Re: For the guys still needing .308...
It's a little cheaper at Samco Global Arms. The 200-round battlepack of Port is $95.80. Don't know how the shipping costs compare.
http://samcoglobal.com/index.html I haven't seen the Portuguese .308 in about 3 years. It's good stuff. |
Re: For the guys still needing .308...
Except for my case, I ordered from classic arms. I got a wooden box with 5 battle packs. The box was missing one brace board, and seemed like it had been wet. I opened it and the cardboard was deteriorated, but the ammo was in a tight bag right, well I opened the battle pack and then the boxes, they all stunk of mildew. Over half of the ammo is corroded, some light, and some real bad. I am horrible about addressing things like this so I have yet to call the company, but with the price of shipping I am not optimistic on how this is going to turn out.
I saw some ammo out of a friends battle pack and it was clean and bright so I figure this is what I should have expected. Any thoughts/ input? |
Re: For the guys still needing .308...
I noticed that there is now a notice by the ammo on the Samco Global site that says "ammo may be slightly corroded." I can't swear to it, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't up there when I ordered mine. I'd guess you aren't the only one who received corroded ammo. I ordered a case from that hasn't arrived yet, and now I'm kind of nervous about it.
I haven't seen the Port in about three years, and all the stuff I bought then in the battlepacks was in great shape. I'm wondering if this is the leavings from then that may have been deemed too corroded to sell (or for the vendor to purchase to sell) before the ammo situation got so desperate. I'm going to be very upset if I have to figure out what to do with a case of ammo that's mostly too corroded to shoot. The cost of a case of ammo is a lot of money to me. I'll post when mine finally gets here and let you know what kind of shape it's in. Edit:Hey, just a thought, but did you pay with a credit card? Don't you have three days to decide whether to keep an item you've ordered or send it back, or if there is no warning on the Website you bought it from, you could complain to your credit card company that the item was misrepresented and ask them to deny the charge. |

Yeah, I wouldn't put up with that crap. More than likely, everything was in that condition when it was shipped to you. Sounds like damage that occured on the cargo ship over to the States. It's really going to suck though, cause I'm sure they're not going to want to eat all of the costs, but they should have NEVER shipped anything in that condition to you!
